Moss – It is everywhere!

Our seasons have changed, Autumn and Winter are almost indistinguishable - but they are certainly wetter and milder, which provides a perfect environment for moss to flourish.

Unfortunately this is bad news for your lawn,  resulting flooding and damage to the grass root system and this is all on the back of our dry Summer. If grass begins to suffer it allows invaders in, Spring / Summer weeds – Autumn and Winter – moss.

Moss, if left untreated will spread, it will suffocate your lawn, resulting in the lawn dying off, not good news at all and will systematically undo all the hard work put in over the previous years and seasons.

The ONLY way to treat the moss is to apply a moss control, an iron based control is our preferred method, followed by raking or scarification.

Some lawns are likely to require seeding once the scarification has been completed, it all depends upon the extent of moss (or thatch) present in a lawn, but we would advise accordingly.

We also treat hard surfaces such as patios and driveways with a moss control. This is a completely different type of control which removes the damage caused from jet washing. If you would like to learn more please specify in the comment below.
